Urban Tailz has been providing daily dog walking, cat sitting, and pet sitting services on the North Side of Chicago since 2000, providing over 750,000 visits to thousands of happy pets. We are one of the oldest and highest-rated dog walking companies in Chicago. We have learned so much over the years, and we strive to continually improve our services for our clients. We believe technology is vital to our business, but that a personal touch is the most important thing for our clients.
Our pet sitters are employees who have been background checked and have gone through a week-long training course before providing pet care services on their own. Urban Tailz does not use independent contractors like many dog walking companies, which means our pet sitters are well-trained, held up to a higher standard, and covered by all Urban Tailz insurance. Urban Tailz is also licensed, bonded, and insured to provide pet sitting services in Chicago.

I am a born and raised small town Iowa girl. Growing up in a slower paced town, I was always curious about the city life. While growing up as a professional dancer, I often traveled throughout the Midwest to expend my training. At 18 years old, I moved to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a full time dance career. After 4 years, I was ready for a new adventure and set my eyes on the windy city of Chicago!
Now in Chicago, I work in the real estate industry as a property manager. I have always been a lover of animals, especially cats and dogs, and with a busy schedule it has been hard for me to own my own pets. Because of this I like to fill my free time with dog walking and pet sitting as much as I can.
I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Urban Taliz! Because of this great company I get to spend time and be active with all your adorable, cuddly, furry friends!
Hi my name is Abby. Mother of a two year old. I’ve lived in and around Chicago my whole life. I grew up in a house with five dogs of all breeds and sizes. Which was great but my golden doodle is a handful by himself now.
I’ve always loved animals, I’ve worked on farms and I’m vegan. I pride myself on my pet sitter abilities. I joined Urban Tailz to meet some awesome pups while enjoying the weather!
Hi! My name is Adrianne. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and moved downtown in 2010. I spent most of my childhood in the country side of Michigan, and to this day I’m more a country girl than city girl.
I have a strong passion for animals and kids. My dream is to one day own a farm, take in all the stray dogs from the streets, and shelters. I want to be able to give them a home, love, and the life they deserve. It breaks my heart to see all the dogs in the shelters. I used to enjoy going to visit dogs in PetSmart adoption center to at least give them some love and play time until recently, but it started breaking my heart too much.
I have been surrounded by dogs since I was a kid. I rescued a pitbull in 2015 and she was my first own dog. When I visited Brazil in 2017 I rescued a black German Shepherd from being chained up in the yard, now she is living down there with family.
When I returned to Brazil last year I helped raise a newborn Labrador, which included feedings, and holding her up as a baby to go to the bathroom. While I was down there as well I worked with another dog who had it rough and taught her what it’s like to feel love and be happy. She made a lot of progress during my time with her.
I just got a pitbull puppy who I am now working with on being a service dog. I enjoy working with dogs, and seeing the capability they have to learn so many new things, and be so gentle. I love helping dogs and giving them a second chance. It makes me so happy to see where a dog has come from and all the progress they have made.
I’m so excited to meet all of your fur babies and taking them on lovely walks.
I grew up on a farm and love the outdoors and animals. Working for Urban Tailz allows me to hang out with great dogs while also being outside on a daily basis.
While I’m not walking dogs, I enjoy working out and doing anything outdoors. I also enjoy riding my scooter around town during the summer months.
Hi! My name is Alma, and I have been working for Urban Tailz almost as long as I can remember. Over the years, I have walked dogs and taken care of cats all over this beautiful city. I love being outdoors and being active, so this is the perfect job for me. When I’m not walking dogs, biking, or skating, I also enjoy playing and watching soccer. I love walking around Chicago and noticing simple beauty, like flowers and butterflies.
Taking care of animals makes me happy, and I will be sure to take great care of yours!
I grew up in a small town west of Chicago and moved here around 15 years ago. I love Chicago and don’t plan on ever living anywhere else. I live in Humboldt Park with my husband and Pit Bull Dyna. I love all dogs, but I’m definitely a big fan of bully breeds.
I can’t get enough of dogs, and working for Urban Tailz gives me the opportunity to be around all sorts of different sizes and breeds. It also gets me out and moving! When I’m not walking dogs I also work at a beer bar where I’ve learned a ton about beer, and get to try different kinds too. I love watching movies and hanging with my husband and dog.
Hi! I’m Angel! I have lived in Chicago my whole life and have always loved animals. I love being around all kinds of animals, but I’m a dog lover above everything else. Working for Urban Tailz not only allows me to take my doggie friends on adventurous walks, but also allows me to build a bond and friendship with each and every one of them.
My clients know my love for all things Bravo TV, so they usually have the channel listed for me when I’m house sitting with one of my furry friends. There’s nothing better than snuggling up with one of my doggie clients while watching Real Housewives!
My name is Anne, and when I graduated college in DC I knew I wanted to move to Chicago. After moving, Urban Tailz felt like the perfect fit for me.
I grew up with dogs, first a mutt named Curry and then two corgis named Boomer and Lucy. I always loved playing with them, and missed getting to take care of dogs while I lived in DC. Luckily, my roommates and I got to take care of a cat named Finn and I discovered a love of cats.
When I’m not walking dogs or taking care of cats, I like riding my bike around the city and playing guitar.
Hi! I’m Annie, and I love dogs more than anything! I grew up in Oak Park just outside of Chicago and have lived here and loved it ever since. I left for a few years to attend school in Tacoma, Washington, and while it was beautiful there I missed my dog, my city, and my people so much I had to come back.
I am so excited to be walking with Urban Tailz, can’t imagine anything better than being paid to hang out with and care for dogs all while actively exploring the neighborhoods of Chicago through fresh eyes.
I grew up with all kinds of pets, dogs being the stars of the show. Recently, I moved into my own place where I cannot have pets, so I’m extremely excited to be able to keep dogs in my everyday life. I have been walking and sitting them for almost 10 years, and am now driving a doggy daycare school bus in the mornings- I am living and breathing dog transportation and I am so grateful for the trust involved with this line of work.
Outside of being a pet sitter and driving pups around I love cooking, crafting, hiking, and vegging out watching tv- all things that are better with a furry friend around!
Hi, my name is April. I was born in Rock Island, IL and I recently moved to Chicago to be closer to family. I am a big music lover and I enjoy drawing and painting in my free time. I’ve grown up my whole life surrounded by animals and I feel like this is the perfect job for me. I am very patient and I have a kind soul, so I will treat your fur babies with lots of care and love!
Hi! My name is Athena and I was born and raised in the city. Unfortunately, I haven’t explored too much outside of the neighborhoods I’ve lived and worked in, so joining Urban Tailz and walking dogs around the city is going to be awesome!
In my free time I like to play video games, exercise, and fiddle with my camera whenever I see a shot I need to get. I grew up with a variety of different dogs (always having a couple at a time) and I love being able to meet new ones and figure out what their personality is like! I currently own my baby, Ryder, who is a miniature poodle mix. He’s a clumsy little fireball and I love him so much!
I grew up in rural Illinois and moved to Chicago in 2005. I now live with my girlfriend, her two kitties Bela and Gus, and our crazy rabbit Choo Choo. I started working for Urban Tailz in 2006, and it has been my home ever since.
There is nothing better than spending my day with all my furry companions! Animals are my life, and I couldn’t imagine not being around them everyday.
Hi my name is Brenda!! I was born here in Chicago but moved to Michigan when I was 14. I enjoyed the fresh air and country life there but the city lights were calling me back home to Chicago. So I moved back when I was 21 and I’ve been here ever since enjoying all the great things this city has to offer.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my fur babies and also my family. I also enjoy going to the movies, bowling and camping. I joined the urban tailz team because I’ve always actually wanted to work with dogs. So I’m excited to walk your pets! I’ll treat them as they were my own.
Hey there! My name is Brittany. I’ve been living in Chicago for about 4 years now and absolutely love this city. Exploring is one of my favorite things to do during my free time and thanks to Urban Tailz, I’m now able to adventure around Chicago with man’s best friend. I’ve always had such a love for animals since I grew up around so many and I couldn’t think of a better gig for myself than hanging out with dogs all day and enjoying the outdoors!
Aside from my love for animals, I am also a free lance circus performer who specializes in fire eating. I spend my weekends traveling to wherever entertainment is needed and I also vend at festivals over the summer selling custom wire wrap pendents.
Hey, I’m Connor! I’m originally from Quincy, Illinois, and have been living here in Chicago for about four years. I’ve recently just graduated from DePaul University with a major in English Lit, and have been spending my free time exploring the city and meeting plenty of new and outrageous people that this city abounds with. I love to read, write strange poetry, paint, draw, take long walks, hang out at the beach, watch movies, talk about movies, and all around have a good time.
I’ve been around dogs all my life, and like most of us here feel a little bit more joy in my life each time I get to play with and take care of them. I’d be honored and delighted to walk your pups.
I’m a Chicago native going to school right now pursuing my recording arts degree at Columbia. I enjoy the city a lot and know just about every inch of it as I have loved all over.
I have been around dogs since I was born, and I have a great passion for animals as a whole. I have trained large breed dogs and also have two of my own named blue and dexter who I love very much.
My hobbies include gaming and anything sound design.
Hi! I’m Edin. I’m from Montana but moved to Chicago to attend Northwestern. After gaining a degree in Music, I’ve decided to stay in Chicago because I love it so much.
I am a huge animal lover and outdoors person. I’ve had many dogs growing up and just miss being around them since I live in an apartment that doesn’t allow pets. Working for Urban Tailz allows me to get my dog fix. I’m excited to be walking your furry children!
Hello! I’m Emilio! I’m 24. Growing up my family always exposed me to a wide array of exotic animals, due to the rural locations they inhabited and the positions as ranch veterinarians and research biologists they held. I grew to love, respect, and be completely fascinated by ALL of our fellow sentient living organisms; from the lowly workaholic ant to the 15ft long deadly snuggler boa constrictor snake.
Yet if I’m being completely honest I did develop a bit of favoritism in the animal world, and to me personally there is a standout species: Canis lupus familiaris AKA ♥Dogs♥. Although very common and domesticated worldwide, to me nothing beats man’s best friend, because well it’s in the tagline, man’s best friend. I very much am obsessed with our loyal, dopey, playful, cute, needy, protective furry friends. And Urban Tailz allows me to spend fun quality time with doggies while getting much needed fresh air and exercise outside.
I say “much needed fresh air and exercise” because professionally I work as a video editor and have to spend long hours sitting in front of a computer screen stitching and tweaking narratives. The recreational things I enjoy the most are: Korean variety shows, weight lifting, running, cycling, filmmaking, comics, sculpting with clay, cooking, swimming, sailing/boating, stand up, and watching movies.
Originally from Evanston, I went to college in Maryland then worked in D.C. and Michigan before returning to Chicago 4 years ago. I recently finished law school at The John Marshall Law School. I am currently working as a research assistant until I am sworn in and officially receive my license to practice law here in Illinois.
I grew up with yellow labs and several birds, I currently have two pet rats – Bella and Penelope. For me, nothing beats a beautiful Chicago summer day, especially if you add in the beach and a dog or two.I am an avid photographer who loves to travel and meet new people. I also enjoy biking, swimming, and skateboarding.
I’m happy to be a part of the Urban Tailz team and look forward to serving you and your awesome pups!
Hey, I’m Iliana! I love spending time with my pet family, exploring the city, recording music, reading, and watching sports in my free time. I have worked with Urban Tailz for a couple years and am very experienced with all different types of dogs! Living in Chicago my whole life made me get used to all the different weather conditions and know my way around the neighborhoods. Being outdoors is definitely how I like to spend my days, as the fresh air and calming breezes always soothes my mind.
I am currently working at Menards as well, where I mainly bring freight to the store from the warehouse. Planning on finishing school with a major in advertising and hopefully get a job where I can let my creativity go!
Hi there! I’m Jackson, a displaced New Englander learning to love the long winters and horizontal landscapes of the American Midwest!
I grew up in suburban Connecticut alongside a blissed-out golden retriever and a crotchety beagle-sized mutt—a true canine odd-couple that taught me everything I know about love.
After high school I attended Oberlin College, a liberal arts mecca in the sleepy cornfields of Ohio, where I directed plays, studied religion, and perfected the art of the long, slow, ambling stroll. I came to understand what all dogs are born knowing—that wandering is good for the soul, and that, whatever the weather, outside is better than in.
Can’t wait to hang out with your furry beloved!
Hello there! My name is Jenny, and I’ve been with UT since 2012. Originally getting a CDA in preschool teaching, that all changed when I moved to the city. Getting hired with Urban Tailz has greatly increased my love for animals, and shown me my true passion in life.
Since I began walking dogs I’ve now become pet CPR certified, an active volunteer at my dogs rescue One Tail at a Time (OTAT-in Bucktown), and a dog trainer through FetchFind Academy. I also contribute walking dogs to saving my life as I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for 25+ years.
Currently residing in Wicker Park with my two furry boys Phife (dog) and Nintendo (cat) and boyfriend Michael who worked for UT before I did! Needless to say we love this company.
Hello! My name is Jessie. I grew up in Iowa, but moved to Chicago with my husband and my two children five years ago. I was a stay at home mother for the first 6 years, then made the transition into teaching preschool! I have a lot of patience and feel like my love for children translates well to my love for animals as well!
These dogs are your family and I will care for them and love them as if they were my own. When I’m not walking dogs, I enjoy dancing and reading. Running in the summer and skiing in the winter. Also, I am currently enrolled in school furthering my education in early childhood development. I love animals very much and I will make sure to treat your fur babies with care and lots of love!
Hi, I’m Josephine! I am an animal lover of all kinds! I spend my time reading, writing, hiking, geeking out about music, and exploring the city with my own pup. We love the 606 and any dog park we can find.
I’ve been working with animals (especially dogs and cats) for two years now and have loved every minute. I worked at a vet for a year so I am also comfortable and familiar with any problems that may come up with your babies (which we hopefully never have to worry about). I am more than happy to accommodate to any other precious creatures as I have also worked with ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, and birds.
Loving animals takes up 80% of my life so I know I can do an excellent job with yours.
Hello, I’m Kathy! I grew up in a small town in Illinois and went to NIU for my Bachelor degree. I moved down south for 8 years where I worked in fitness and raised two beautiful Labradors.
Now that I’m back up north, I’m an in-home personal trainer and help take care of my clients pets when they are out of town. I’m very passionate about all animals and their happiness so this is absolutely the best job for EVERYONE involved.
Hi, I’m Kelly! I grew up in Iowa and moved to Chicago in 2013. My husband and I currently live downtown with our sassy mini-goldendoodle Olive. I love dogs, walking, and being outside, so I’m thrilled to be able to explore the city with new furry friends!
When I’m not doing something dog-related, I enjoy hiking, reading, listening to podcasts, and eating an inadvisable amount of pizza.
I grew up in Maryland and moved to Chicago 3 years ago. I have a great pitbull mix Penny who is almost 2 now!
I love working for Urban Tailz because I get to be outside, and I get to walk dogs. Who could ask for a better job? Exercise and being outside all day, plus hanging out with some great pups every day is a pretty sweet gig!
I went to Illinois Champaign-Urbana and have a BFA in acting, which I put to good use in the city in my night hours. I also am a founding member of Definition Theatre Company in Chicago, so look for me on your stages/tv screen when you ask your dog how our awesome walk was!
Hello! I grew up in Florida most of my life and have just recently moved to Chicago looking for a change of pace.
I was drawn to Urban Tailz out of my lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs. When I was a student at the University of Florida I volunteered at a canine cognition lab, where I gained professional, hands-on experience with dogs of all kinds and learned a lot about dog psychology. I’ve also walked and pet-sat dogs all throughout my life.
I love biking around, being outside, and most of all I love spending time with dogs, so I can’t think of a better way to spend my time than working for Urban Tailz!
I’m a chicago native who loves all animals-especially dogs. They are incredibly healing & make the world a better place. Working for Urban Tailz allows me to enjoy that great bond formed with all my furry friends.
I am a professional drummer & an international ashtanga yoga instructor who loves cooking, (especially doggie treats), gardening, & biking!
Hi! My name is Martha. I’m a Chicago native. I am a mother to the most wonderful kid- not the animal, but definitely a g.o.a.t. I LOVE animals. As a small child I had a harness and leash for my guinea pig and I would take her on a walk around the neighborhood. In a way I’ve always been preparing for this job 😉
I have such a huge admiration for dogs. They truly are a gift in our existence. I’m the jerk that will acknowledge the dog before the human. You can say hi to every dog you pass, but not every person. So, I happily do that!
I’ve spent years in the service industry. I’m looking forward to the change! I make as much art as I can by painting and drawing. I love to read. I love my plants. I once met a dog named Cassius and I very excitedly told the owner that is the name of my cactus. She didn’t seem to be much of a plant person. I’m a bit of nut, but in all the good ways. I look forward to taking care of the fur babies and being a part of Urban Tailz!
I moved to Chicago in 2006 from Nebraska, and strangely enough, was not a football fan. I joined Urban Tailz in 2007, and I’ve become so fond of all my doggie friends. Going on long walks, teaching new tricks, and giving good scratches behind the ears are my specialty. When I’m not playing with my furry friends, I enjoy painting and creating things.
Hi there! I’m Mina. I’m a Massachusetts transplant who fell head over heels in love with Chicago the moment I set foot. I love wandering and exploring the neighborhoods on any day no matter the weather!
I grew up in Northampton, MA with the sweetest golden retriever and the biggest diva cockapoo you could meet. These two were and are my best buddies and instilled in me pup love for all the sweet-faced dogs out there.
After graduating from Brandeis University, a small liberal arts college in Boston, I moved to Chicago to pursue a life long dream of comedy writing and performance. Who better than to learn the art of comedy than from dogs?! I can’t wait to go for a walk with your pup.
Hi, I’m Muriel! I am an artist that loves to draw and paint, my favorite medium being watercolor. My second passion is music, I’m obsessed with finding new artists and diving into older music I may have missed.
After school, I spent 4 years in food service working as a barista, and just as many years working in retail. Though I always enjoyed connecting with customers and working with a team, I was unhappy with the culture of big corporations.
I’ve loved dogs all my life and spent my entire childhood begging for a puppy to no avail. I now have a puppy named Zelda who is a little fireball of energy and love. I’ve joined Urban Tailz so I can meet furry friends while spending more time enjoying the outdoors.
Hi! I’m Nataly, a Chicago native studying to become a accredited veterinary technician. Currently living in the Edgewater neighborhood with my cats Jackson and Emmitt, and my sixteen year old pup Elara Boo.
I grew up around all types of animals, spending some time at a farm as a kid, and then growing up with more domestic animals such as rabbits, cats, and dogs.
My hobbies include spending time in nature, painting, and spending time with my furry kids.
Hi Everyone! I grew up in Skokie, and just recently moved to the city in October of 2018, and I absolutely love it! I spent most of the school year behind a desk, so I am super excited to actually be outside and explore the city while meeting some awesome pups!
I have grown up with dogs all my life, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my time than taking care of them. I have a 6 year old golden retriever named Riley who thinks he is a lap dog-he’s definitely not-and who has mastered the art of giving the side eye-which he probably learned from me!
When I’m not working, you can find me reading a book outside, writing my novel-which I swear one day I will finish-or watching way too much TV. Like way too much. So happy to be apart of the Urban Tailz team!!
Hi there! I’m a North Carolina transplant who grew up in a suburb with a parade of cats and dogs, and I’ve lived in Chicago since 2017. After years of petting all the pups I’ve met in the street and wishing my apartment allowed them, I’m so excited to get to walk and care for dogs across this beautiful city.
When I’m not looking at photos of Samoyeds and Great Danes on the internet, I love to read novels (Neil Gaiman, Zadie Smith, and Elena Ferrante are some favorites), learn about sharks, and write both fiction and music.
Hi there! My name is Sean and I originally hail from way out west in Phoenix, AZ. I moved to Chicago 8 years ago to pursue music as an audio engineer, songwriter and producer. I’ve had the good fortune of being able to travel the country playing music to hosts of wonderful people and find that making real human connections in the world is such a rewarding passion.
That’s also something I love about being able to walk dogs in the city! It keeps me on the move and engaged with the world outside. And of course there’s always the companionship you get hanging out with your pups every day! I feel that creating strong, trusting bonds with animals is often just as rewarding as with people.
Hi! My name is Shelby and I moved here from Colorado 2.5 years ago. I had mostly worked in restaurants before I moved to Chicago but I had an amazing chance to work with dogs and I took it. At first, I walked dogs in Evanston for a small dog-walking company. I loved it so much and I wanted to work with even more dogs. I started working weekends at a dog daycare a little closer to home.
I’ve learned that working with animals is so personally rewarding and that the old quote is true, “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
I have 2 small dogs, a pug and a corgi/dachshund mix. My boyfriend and I rescued them before we left Colorado and we look forward to rescuing many more pets in the future!
Hello! I’m Sireena, a young Chicago native. I live with two dogs, my lab pup Odin and 6 y/o pit named Chulo, and a cat who acts like a third dog lol. As a graduate from Columbia College, I’m pursuing a career in the music industry by night and relieving stress with my besties at Urban Tailz by day.
I look forward to taking adventures with my new friends, clearing my head and boosting my mood. It’s hard to have a bad day with all the kisses and happy dances awaiting every greeting! I in return, give them the same energy back, lots of affection, compliments and playtime.
When I’m not with my furry friends, I enjoy cooking, longboarding, and performing at or booking live music events.
I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and decided to move out to Chicago in 2014 for School. I wanted to get involved with comedy and improv and what better place than Chicago.
Growing up I had two dogs and a cat. There is nothing better than coming home from a long day and having all your animals meet you at the door. Since moving to the city I haven’t had the means to have a pet of my own. With Urban Tailz I am able to get my dog fix. I love and care about animals, so it’s a perfect job where I get to go on adventures with these pets and show them how much they are loved.
Hi! My name is Willy, I’m an actor/comedian originally from Littleton, Colorado. I moved to Chicago right out of high-school for school, where I went to Columbia College to study Musical Theater and Comedy Writing. I then moved to Los Angeles for a few years, and am now very happy and excited to be back in the Windy City.
Growing up, I was always surrounded by dogs, usually a cross breed of some sort. I’d spend hours walking them, rough-housing with them, or just chilling and watching Frasier with them (their favorite).
I love comedy, I love to perform, I love to write, I love to bike, and I love hanging with cool dogs all day. I’m very happy to be working with Urban Tailz and hanging with some four-legged friends.
