Meet Penny and Squeaks! Two lovable rescue kitties who enjoy snuggling, climbing, judging, and meowing incessantly.
Hi! My name is Maddy, and I'm a King Charles Cavalier. My favorite things to do are hang out with my buddy Morgan, chew on everything I can find, and snuggle with Mom and Dad.
Gustov VonBarkington (Gus for short) is a Yorkie and Maltese mix who loves giving kisses, growls at himself in the mirror, and loves watching Animal Planet so he can see what the rest of the world is up to.
Nicknamed Wild Man, Cusco is a Standard Schnauzer who is really sweet at heart. He loves to play with dirty socks, likes licking the dishes in the dishwasher, and drink out of the cherished pee bowl.
Cubby is a sweet and energetic Goldendoodle that loves hiding socks, hates the stairs and the cone of shame, and loves nothing more than snuggling with his momma and daddy. His favorite aunt is Mercedes of Urban Tailz. He loves playing with her when his parents are out of town!
We had just said goodbye to our greyhound, Pike (who Ben walked for almost 8 years), and went to donate his leftover medication at the Emerald Kennels, which is where his adoption group, Greyhounds Only, boards hounds newly arrived from tracks in Florida and other parts of the country.
We had no plans to get another dog so soon, but went in back to take a look at all of greyhounds to cheer ourselves up. There were almost 40 dogs. In one of the crates, there was an impish little face desperately trying to get our attention – pawing at the crate, thumping her tail, and tracking us as we walked across the room. Her racing name was All Heart, and that seemed like a sign.
Wally was rescued from the anti-cruelty shelter by his wonderful parents and went from a 4-month-old, severely underweight and low-energy pup to a happy and healthy pup that he is today.
Cooper is our September Pet of the Month. He's a 7-year-old pocket beagle who loves to cuddle and sleep under the covers at night. He's also never turned down a good ear scratching.
Eddie’s always been a wonderful companion. He’s very intuitive and easy to take care of. You can talk to him and he seems to understand just about anything you say to him. Now his hearing and sight aren’t as good as they used to be, but all in all I think he’s aging well. He still has the personality and spirit of a puppy.
He loves to eat but stays very lean. His favorite desserts are apples, carrots, and pears. He knows when I’m making a smoothie and stays very close so I don’t forget he likes to eat healthy too! About the only thing that disrupts his sunny disposition are thunderstorms and rainy windy weather. When storms come, he finds the farthest room in the house to hide.
From day one, July Pet of the Month Hallie has loved play time, walks, the park, and of course the many bones she goes through weekly! She loves nothing more than to lick you to death until you are covered in slobber. She also always looks sad (because of the wrinkles) but don't let that fool you she is the happiest dog and adapted to the city life right away!
Floyd Samuel Sexton came into our lives on September 24, 2014. He was rescued from the south side of Chicago when he was about 4 months old by Recycled Rotts, a local rescue organization. He was at his foster mom’s for about three days before we met him in person and needless to say it was love at first sight when he curled up in a ball at our feet. Floyd is named after Three Floyd’s beer (a personal favorite of his parents also brewed in his mom’s hometown) and his middle name is in honor of our first Recycled Rotts rescue, Sam.
Scout is our May Pet of the Month. He was named Scout because of his ability to fetch a toy immediately upon bringing him home, and his middle name Wilbur because of the pig-like noises he made as a puppy.
Our April Pets of the Month are brother and sister Boca and Tess. They were rescued at separate times, but are inseparable today.
KC is our March Pet of the Month. She's still a puppy but she's quickly becoming a big girl. She loves her walks and loves meeting new people!
Our wonderful client Rachel shares her story of how Lulu came into her life at the perfect time.
Cute Boba is our February Pet of the Month. He loves playing fetch and will give kisses to anyone who's willing to accept them.
It didn't start off well. In fact, it was downright rocky. Casey hated Tesla more than any dog had ever hated anything. In the end though, Tesla changed Casey's life for the better in a way no other dog could.
