One day, you’re a normal, social person. The next, you’re Googling your cat’s horoscope and birth chart.

At Urban Tailz, we’re obsessed with pets. And while a lot of people know us as a dog walking company, we’ve also been cat sitting (and guinea pig sitting, and bird sitting, and chinchilla sitting, etc.) for the last 22 years. We like to say we’ve been cat sitters since 2000, but cat people since birth 😉

Point being, we know—and love—cats. So much so that we were inspired to write an entire article on kitty cat horoscopes.

Aries (March 21–April 19)

The giver. The Aries cat’s love language is gift giving. Rather than cuddling, they prefer to show their love and affection through gifts––be it toys, shoelaces or actual critters they’ve thoughtfully, um, acquired. They may even announce their gift with a wild and crazy yowl. This means they are exceptionally proud of their kill and will now accept all the praise and adoration they’re due.

Aries cats are active and need a lot of stimulation. Show them you love them by giving them the opportunity to hunt, stalk and play with toys. Accept everything they give you and NEVER ask for a gift receipt.

Taurus (April 20–May 20)

The lush. Taurus cats appreciate the finer things in life. They understand that you work so they can have a cushy life, and they feel no guilt over it. Taurus cats love all things indulgent: plush blankets, comfy beds, kitty cat massages and above all, treats. (A word of warning: this innate love for food can easily help them tip the scales from sturdy boi to chonkster, so proceed with caution.)

Gemini (May 21–June 20)

The sour patch. Like human Gemini, cat Gemini have two personalities. Sometimes they’re sweet (purr purrs, cuddles, biscuits), sometimes they’re sour (judgmental glares, disinterested in affection, general aloofness). While they can be super cuddly at times, do not expect your Gemini cat to comfort you every time you’re sad or sick; they’ve got enough on their plate and will get to you when or if they’re able.

Gemini cats are big talkers. They’re curious and mischievous (no treat bag is safe). Treat your Gemini cat with a variety of spaces and activities to match their moods. Leave them alone when they’re napping; drop everything when they want to play.

Cancer (June 21–July 22)

The delicate flower. Cancer cats tend to be sweet, sensitive little bebes. They’re shy with most people and prefer the company of their owners to pretty much anyone else. Cancer cats do not appreciate loud noises, fast movements or change (omg am I a Cancer cat?). Their ideal night involves a nice meal, a Miss Marple marathon and a big couch with the option to crawl into a lap.

Treat your Cancer cat with daily affirmations, special hidey-holes and a subscription to BritBox. Show your Cancer cat you love them by making them feel safe and secure.

Leo (July 23–Aug 22)

The drama queen. Leo cats have major Alpha energy. They’re high drama, high energy and need attention right meow. Leo cats would make incredible Real Housewives and live for contentious 3-part reunions. Leo cats tend to punish their owners for not giving them attention. They’ll scratch on mirrors or couches, chew on furniture, books or TV corners—whatever it takes to show you your divided attention is unacceptable.

Treat your Leo cat with the world and your undivided attention. Nothing less will do.

Virgo (Aug 23–Sept 22)

The neat freak. Virgo cats like things nice and orderly. They can be picky about their food, eating stations and litter boxes. They like what they like, and they’re not afraid to ask for it.

Virgo cats always know best. And though they’re strong in their convictions, they aren’t cold. Virgo cats can be very nurturing to other members of the house, taking on the role of mother hen. Expect the occasional bath from your Virgo cat. They’re observant, so they know when you need it.

Show your Virgo cat you love them by keeping their litter box and eating station clean. Wash their food and water dishes regularly (though you should do this no matter your cat’s sign).

Libra (Sept 23–Oct 22)

The socialite. Social and easygoing, Libra cats crave companionship. They do not appreciate alone time, so you’d do well to keep their dance cards full.

A Libra cat will show up to breakfast in full glam. No matter what the occasion is, they will spend hours grooming for it. They care deeply about their looks and think it’s an absolute travesty that people no longer dress up to fly.

Treat your Libra cat with companionship (they get along famously with Gemini cats) and socialization. Don’t leave them alone too long, and make sure they’ve got a loving, reliable cat sitter when you’re away!

Scorpio (Oct 23–Nov 21)

The finicky feline. Scorpio cats are mischievous and mysterious. They love hard and hiss hard. Scorpio cats epitomize teen angst and plaster their cat trees with My Chemical Romance posters. Scorpio cats are very loyal––so much so that they might not want to share with you another pet. They don’t like change and tend to be homebodies.

Show your Scorpio cat you love them by swearing fealty to them and them alone. (A simple blood oath will do.) Treat them to lots of hidey-holes, as they’re big hiders and like to find dark, secluded places to practice their dark magicks.

Sagittarius (Nov 22–Dec 21)

The explorer. Sagittarius cats crave adventure and space to explore. They’re always on some sort of a quest, and they’ll knock over every single thing on your nightstand to see it through. Most Sagittarius cats love the outdoors and took a gap gear to backpack through Europe.

Sagittarius cats are friendly, easygoing and able to woo just about anyone. They’re scrappy, messy and could give two sh*ts for pomp and circumstance. (Libra and Virgo cats would NEVER.)

If your Sagittarius cat is an indoor cat, make sure they’ve got plenty of stimulation. Treat them to a window seat, ideally one near a bird feeder so they can daydream about vanquishing the be-feathered. They’ll love it, and you’ll get to hear them click and clack at birds.

Capricorn (Dec 22–Jan 19)

The go-getter. Like Leos, Capricorn cats have major Alpha energy. They’re very determined and take their work very seriously, whether that’s hunting mice, patrolling windows or keeping you awake at all hours of the night. Capricorn cats get what they want. Period.

Capricorn cats can come across as shy and/or serious, but people melt before them. (Again, Capricorn cats get what they want.) They’re very smart and think your little Wordle obsession is cute, but not that impressive, tbh.

Treat your Capricorn cat to plenty of stimulation. Show them you love them with puzzles and games to flex their smarts.

Aquarius (Jan 20–Feb 18)

The adorable weirdo. Aquarius cats march to the beat of their own drums. The Jessica Day of cats, Aquarius kitties are crafty, quirky and somehow manage to pull off bangs. They’re curious (sometimes to a fault) and independent.

Aquarius cats crave entertainment and can find it in just about anything. These playful kitties can sometimes come off as cold, but really, they’re just busy.

Treat your Aquarius cat to a variety of toys and playtime experiences. Set up an obstacle course and watch them go nuts! Bonus points if you build one and tag us on Instagram (@urbantailz) so we can see.

Pisces (Feb 19–March 20)

The Long Island Medium. Deeply intuitive and imaginative, Pisces cats have been known to possess psychic abilities. They’re very comforting and can sense when you (or the ghosts in your walls) need some extra cuddles.

Pisces cats do not appreciate being ignored. They must be greeted the moment you walk in the door. These emotional kitties crave companionship and are often deeply connected to their owners.
